location, location, location
it's on a very busy street and the windows don't block any of the noise but they do give you earplugs
The bar was great and the entertainment. Bar staff were courteous
The room is dated and grubby. The tv is ridiculously small. The room was not cleaned until very late afternoon when staff came in with towels. There was no handsoap, just a universal bodywash,
The location was good for the city
Being in the centre of the city it was very noisy with no attemt at trying to deduce the noise with say secondary glazing, double glazing etc the windows were very poorly fitted and in winter cyou could imagine the room to be very cold as ours was in the middle of August. In fact they even left windows open due to decorating
The location was ideal for the perfect blend of culture and chaos, we went sightseeing by day (Dublin Castle is right across the road!) and had a drink or two in the bars at night (Temple Bar is right behind the hotel). The food in the hotel restaurant was amazing, if you can't decide what to have then choose it all...Irish Tapas is the best idea ever! We have recommended this hotel to all of our friends!
1) It's in the centre of the city and it's an ideal place to stay if you want to have a lot of monuments, shops and pubs around you. 2) The people that work there are gentle and quite helpful (as are almost all irish people). 3) The rooms are clean and quite large (not very large of course!)
1) The building is quite old (inside and outside). 2) It is not the right place to stay if you love silence. The hotel is just above a pub (as a matter of fact, the pub is a part of the hotel) and lies in a quite noisy territory. 3) You' ll surely come across drunken people (some of which seem to be dangerous), especially if you walk late at night or very early in the morning. Nevertheless, a lot of people walk around almost all the time; so you don't feel you're in danger
In the right location.
Step up from a hostel, impossable to get sleep because of street noise, lots of health and saftey issues.
The location is quite nice. Right on the main street of Dublin city.
The noise coming from the street in unbearable, making it impossible to rest; The room are not well clean; the breakfast is extremely poor; the beds are totally unconfortable; the staff is not as nice as you would expect.
Myself and my partner liked the fact that the rooms where nice, the bed was very comfortable and the food was great. The tables with there own pumps to serve yourself your own pint of beer were great.
The TV was to high up to watch!!!
General cleanliness and comfort. We were told that remote controls were not given anymore because previous customers were used to throw them by the window !!!!
Hotel was perfect location, stafff were really nice, very basic rooms, it was perfect for 44e, I wouldnt pay anymore.
Could do with a lick of paint new sheets and a hoover
Location would be hard to beat, as it is right next to the Central Bank on Dame Street. The bar... nice to be able to go downstairs for a drink. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and friendly.
The lift is scary! Shakes likea breakdancer.. Apart from the linen, the room looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned since the Civil War. Peeling wallpaper behind each bed, a broken shower head that looked as if someone had tried to fix it with some plumber's tape. (I notified a staff member about this on departure). It would not take a lot to put these matters right. Not all rooms appeared to be in such bad condition, though, as I spied two others on departure.
nice bar in ground floor. The barmaid is so so beautiful, like a supermodel.
Some things in the room - though clean - were worn out. By times it can be quite noisy.
Location - Perfect for a city break ... Budget - i got a brilliant offer, E70 for 2 nights stay .... Cleanliness - very clean hotel, i took particular notice of this, esp after meeting friends in a 4* hotel nearby where only 2 out of the 5 toilets worked due to clogging!
The hall way on the first floor was dreary looking and the curtains and carpets in my room also but apart from this i would definately stay there again
waiting ages to get into the hotel at night time
